Conreda 'Connie' Ford

Conreda "Connie" Ford, 92, of Columbus Junction died Friday, March 31, 2000, at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

The funeral service is pending at the Stacy Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction with interment in the Columbus City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National T.T.T. Society or the United Methodist Church of Columbus Junction.

Mrs. Ford was born Aug. 12, 1907, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Conrad and Annie Harshbarger Newburg. She married Ernest D. Ford on Dec. 5, 1929 and has been a resident of Columbus Junction since 1934. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a charter member of Chapter R of the National T.T.T. Society and a former member of the National Executive Board of the T.T.T. Society and served 10 years as a fraternity house mother in Ames.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kay Ball of Worthington, Ohio, and Janet Peterson of Washington; one brother, James Newburg of Mt. Pleasant; one sister, Margaret King of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one sister, Marie McCoy; and one grandson.
