Cornelia 'Cornie' Shrauger Day

      Cornelia "Cornie" Shrauger Day, 84, of Washington, died early Wednesday morning, March 17, 2004, at Halcyon House in Washington, following a long illness.

      Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2004, at United Presbyterian Church in Washington with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. The family will receive friends following services in the fellowship room of the United Presbyterian Church. A memorial has been established in her memory for local home-based Alzheimer's care. Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of arrangements.

      Cornie was born on May 7, 1919, in Iowa City, the daughter of Harold Francis and Corneila Fitch Prentiss Shrauger. She married John Robert Day on June 28, 1940, in Atlantic, Iowa.
