Curtis P. Mineart

      Curtis P. Mineart, 75, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona following an extended illness.

      A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, Iowa, with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Interment, with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29, will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.

      Visitation will begin at noon Friday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, Iowa, where the family will be present from 5-8 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

      Memorials have been established for the St. James Building Fund and Alzheimer's Association.

      Mr. Mineart was born Dec. 18, 1932, in Washington County, Iowa, the son of Henry W. and Carrie Grace Lamansky Mineart. He married Melva Schnicker Jan. 9, 1954, in Washington, Iowa.
