Curtis W. Howell Jr., 89, of rural Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at his home.

Curtis was born on July 5, 1932, at Patterson, Iowa, the son of Curtis and Della (Quick) Howell Sr. Curtis served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Betty Duff, following their divorce, he was united in marriage to Terrie Evans on October 16, 1999, at Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Curtis lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, boating, model airplanes and driving fast. Curtis had his pilot licenses and enjoyed flying on different trips. Most of all Curtis enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren's events. Curtis owned and operated TLC Auto Marina in Mt. Pleasant for a number of years. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Moose Lodge and Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant.

Curtis is survived by his wife, Terrie Howell, of rural Mt. Pleasant; his children, Susan (David) Noordzy, of Fayette, Arkansas, Stacy Howell, of Springfield, Missouri, JoLynn Evans of New London and Levi (Krystal) Evans of Lockridge; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, RoseAnn Schmaltz and Phyllis Wittrap.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ida Mae Erickson.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Monte Knudsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. The family will receive friends from

9:30 until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established in his memory.
