Cynthia Ann Hahn was born on April 11, 1956, in Fairfield, IA. She was the daughter of the late Chester and Marjorie Koontz Manley and the cherished wife of John M. Hahn, who preceded her in death in 2016.
A true Fairfield native, Cindy was a graduate of Fairfield High School, class of 1975. Her pursuit of higher education led her to attend the University of Northern Iowa, where she earned her degree in Health and Recreation. On July 16, 1988, Cindy married John Martin Hahn, in the very town she always called home. They shared many wonderful years together until John’s passing.
Professionally, Cindy dedicated years of service at the Jefferson County Health Care Center, working in the housekeeping department. Her commitment to her work led to a well-earned respect by her colleagues and community.
Cindy's passion for life extended far beyond her profession. She was an avid gardener, tending to her outdoor plants with care. The birds of Fairfield had a friend in Cindy, as she would feed them tirelessly throughout the seasons, and she always had a special place in her heart for cats. She always enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays and in her spare time dabbling in genealogy. Cindy found great joy in casual conversations with friends and neighbors, always eager to lend an ear or share a smile. Generosity was second nature to Cindy; she supported various community causes and always strived to make a positive impact in the lives of others and her community.
Cindy will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Rhonda (Lewis) Stoneking of Hartland, WI; niece Stephanie (Shawn) Billmyer of New Berlin, WI; nephew Michael (Kris) Stoneking of Erin, WI; grandniece and grandnephews, Emma, Matthew, and Ethan. Along with her close relatives, she leaves behind many extended family members and friends who were touched by her kindness and generous spirit.
