Cynthia "Cindy" Nixon, 71, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on July 19, 2021, at her home. A visitation

celebrating her life will be held on Friday, July 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Weerts Funeral Home. Memorials in Cindy's name may be made to the family.

Cindy was born on September 22, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, to Roger and Phylis Richard. Following her high school graduation, she was united in marriage to Bruce Nixon on May 1, 1971, in Fairfield, Iowa; he preceded her in death on October 27, 2014. Cindy loved to spend time outside in her gardens, crafting or playing cards. For a number of years, Cindy was a member of the McKinley Lunch Bunch. She also enjoyed spending time on her back deck visiting with her neighbor Julie. Cindy enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Iowa State, when they were not playing Iowa. Most recently, Cindy's hobbies included Face Timing her granddaughter Soledad. Cindy has a warm and loving personality that made her easy to get along with and had many friends, all of who will miss her dearly.

Those left to honor her memory are her sons, Dan and Doug (Mercedes) Nixon; granddaughter, Soledad Nixon-Diaz; brother, Michael (Fen) Richard; sister, Kim (Terry) Richard; aunt and uncle, Gary and Crystal Tschantz; and three special nephews.

Her husband, Bruce; her parents; and her daughter-in-law, Michelle, preceded her in death.
