D Rex McCrary, 74, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed on February 5, 2025 at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital after an extended illness. Rex was born May 20, 1950 to Dale and Nancy (Sudendorf) McCrary in Clinton, IL. The family later moved from Illinois to Washington, IA.

Rex graduated from Washington High School in 1968 then enlisted in the Army where he served at Ft. Lewis, WA and later in Korea.

He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for many years in his hometown of Clinton, IL. After his retirement from the railroad he relocated to Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Joleen of St. Petersburg, her son Adam Warfield of Ibiza, Spain, sisters, Kay Sheetz of Washington, IA and Joyce Fitzgerald of St. Petersburg, FL as well as nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Gary Sheetz and Rodney Fitzgerald.
