Dale Allen Christner Sr, 60, of Rome, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Dale was born on August 15, 1960, in Sycamore, Illinois, the son of Laverne Nicholas and Patricia May (Cottrell) Christner. He has been with Sherri Lyon since 2001 and was united in marriage on March 7, 2013, in Mt. Pleasant. Dale owned and operated Christner's Carpet and Services and Christner Flooring in Fairfield, Iowa. Where he was known for charming all the elderly woman. Where he got the nick name of Charmer.

He enjoyed fishing, coon and squirrel hunting. He loved his dogs Hunter and Maggie.

He drove cars for Crown Motors in Mt. Pleasant. Which considered his family not a job.

One would see him mowing around Rome. He loved mowing the approach into Rome and some of the interstate. He never knew a stranger he loved his friends and family.

Dale is survived by his wife, Sherri of Rome; his children, Dale Allen (Jenille) Christner Jr, April (Rondell) Douglass, Cory (Cindy) Mineart; three grandchildren, Mallory, Oaklynn and Dael; his mother, Patricia (Lawrence) Taylor; his brothers and sisters, Laverne (Vicky) Christner, Calvin (Cindy) Coon, Kelly Whitham, Todd Christner, Melody Sanderson, Patty (Rod) Fox, LeRoy Taylor, Larry (Cheryl) Taylor, Oliver Taylor, Carol Taylor; his aunts, Sharon Sanaghan and Linda Quinn; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father; two sisters, Diane Kramer and Susan Pohren; one brother, Greg Taylor.

According to his wished cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. No service was planned at this time
