Dale Loren Guffey, 76, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Ottumwa Good Samaritan Center.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's/Dementia and mailed to Todd Guffey, 405 West Maple, Libertyville, IA 52567.

Dale was born July 4, 1945, to Lewis and Edith (Leopard) Guffey in Numa, IA.

Dale served in the Marines during the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart. He worked at Rockwell/Meritor as an engineer until it closed. Dale collected many things especially hot wheels. He was always tinkering either on motorcycles or cars. Dale loved his pets and enjoyed watching western movies.

Dale will be missed by his kids, Tom (Kim) Guffey of Fairfield, Todd (Shelly) Guffey of Libertyville, Jason (Jaime) Guffey of Cedar Rapids and Heather (Casey) Barnett) of Eldon; grandchildren, Roxanne Howard, Justin (Brittany Higdon) Guffey, Cody (Cassy) Guffey, Dallas (Eden Bell) Guffey, Tyler Guffey, Lindsay Guffey and Zackary Guffey; great-grandchildren, Cael Guffey and Aiden Guffey; and two sisters, Bonnie Brassfield and Virginia Schiedel.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Edith; and siblings, Ethel Thomas, William Guffey II, Norman Guffey, Ralph Guffey and Ronald Guffey.
