Dale Louis Scheibe, age 85, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Halcyon House in Washington.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington with Pastor Erin Kaye officiating. Calling hours will begin 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Interment will take place at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul, Nebraska, at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024. Memorials have been established for the Parkinsons Foundation, Hospice of Washington County or the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be sent for Dale’s family at www.jonesfh.com.

Dale was born August 6, 1938, in Cushing, Nebraska, the son of Louis and Ellen (Schenck) Scheibe. Dale graduated from St. Paul High School in St. Paul, Nebraska, in 1956.

Dale was the Vice President of Wilson Concrete for 45 years, retiring in 2001. He was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served on the church council and served as the Chairman of the Washington County Riverboat Foundation Board. Dale was very civic-minded and gave generously to the Washington Community. He also knew somebody every place he traveled to.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Scheibe of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; daughter, Rebecca (David) Ross of Maple Grove, Minnesota; 2 granddaughters, Madeline Ross and Claudia Ross; nephew, Frank (Sherry) Bell and niece, Kathy (Gary) McCray.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Ellen Scheibe; sister, Doris Bell and brother-in-law, LaRoy Bell.
