Dale W. Craff, 92, of Brighton, died Tuesday morning Jan. 30, 2001 at the Washington Care Center in Washington.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2 at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville with the Rev. Steve Estrem officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. Burial will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Germanville. Memorials have been established to the Brighton Volunteer First Responders, Brighton Volunteer Fire Department or Hope Lutheran Church.
Mr. Craff was born Jan. 30, 1909 in Germanville, the son of William A. and Kathryn L. Baumgartner Craff. He married Pearl M. Hank April 20, 1933 in Muscatine, who preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1996. He lived most of his life near Germanville and attended Walnut No. 5 Country School. He retired from farming and moved into Brighton in 1985. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville and the Lutheran Brotherhood.
Survivors include three sons: Harlan and Marvyl Craff of Brighton, LeRoy Craff of Brighton and Maynard Craff of Alton, Ill.; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Burly Craff and a sister Ethel Armstrong.
