Daniel C. Christensen

BRIGHTON ? Daniel C. Christensen, 65, of Brighton, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 22, at the First Church of God in Brighton with the Rev. Ryan Meader officiating. Burial will be at a later date following cremation. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the church. Memorials for Hospice of Washington or a general memorial may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 505 South Harrison Street, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Christensen was born Nov. 19, 1950, in Ottumwa, the son of Walter Christensen and Sarah L. Rogers (Jones). He married Cyndi Hyde on May 25, 1990, in Fairfield.

He grew up in Eldon and graduated from Cardinal High School in 1969. He worked for Perfex/Modine Manufacturing Company in Washington until his retirement in April 2014. He loved all outdoor activities, including camping and gardening.

Surviving are his wife, Cyndi; three children, Kristopher (George) Lowe and Ambir Cookson of Brighton, Danielle Christensen and Andrew Buendia of Brighton, and Shannon Christensen and Matt Hannon of Trenton; three grandsons; one brother, Tim Rogers of Eldon; and one sister, Alana Rogers of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
