Daniel D. Hall, 58, of
Mount Pleasant, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019.
Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Salem Congregational Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Aaron Helterbran officiating. Burial will be in Salem East Cemetery.
Gifts of love and friendship may be given to Salem Fire and Rescue or the family for Daniel's grandchildren's education. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is assisting the family. Online condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.
Born Feb. 16, 1961, in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Daniel Dewyane was the son of L. Dewyane and Mary Lou (Brill) Hall. He was a 1979 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He took nursing classes at Southeastern Community College. On Sept. 3, 1983, Danny married Beth Glass at Oakland Mills. The couple later divorced.
As a youth, Danny attended Salem Congregational Church. In high school, he excelled in football, baseball and wrestling. Danny was named First Team Allstate in football and wrestling. He was voted one of the top 10 athletes in Iowa during his senior year of high school.
For much of his working career, Danny worked as a residential treatment worker at MHI in Mount Pleasant until health issues caused him to retire early. Known to his friends as "Too Tall," he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He liked to hunt artifacts, ride his motorcycle and listen to rock 'n roll music. Danny was a World Wrestling Federation fan.
Danny is survived by two children, Jason Hall of Wayland, Iowa, and Jennifer (Justin) Tyler of Hannibal, Mo.; his mother, Mary Lou Hall of Salem, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Nickolas and Nevaeh Tyler of Hannibal, Mo.
Preceding Daniel in death was his father and grandparents.
