Danny Lou Crossett, 71, of Brighton, died at his home early Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021. He was born July 1, 1950, in Washington to Gene Edward and Corinne Maxine Baker Crossett. He grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington High School in 1968, and from Ottumwa Tech Auto Body Repair in 1969. Dan married Sue Schooley November 28, 1969, and they were later divorced. He married Cynthia L. Johnson July 31, 2010, in Brighton. Dan was an over-the-road truck driver, had driven a truck for a grain elevator and worked at Fansteel. He was a member of the NRA, played drums (Country, Rock, 50s and 60s), enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, boating and model trains.

Dan is survived by his wife, Cynthia; son, David of Seattle, Washington; daughters, Christina Crossett of Ocala, FL, and Carolyn Crossett of West Chester, IA; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gene Crossett (Linda) of Davenport, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, David.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at the Brighton First Church of God with Pastor Rick Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Brighton. Visitation will be held immediately preceding the funeral beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials Brighton Volunteer First Responders or Sonshine Medical Supply in Washington may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 404 S Mechanic Street, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
