Darlene E. Roberts, 80, of Birmingham, Iowa, passed away on June 11, 2020, at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born Feb. 16, 1940, to Harvey and Viola Miller Semmons in Clarinda, Iowa. She married Dennis Roberts on Sept. 22, 1963, in Chillicothe, Mo. Together, Dennis and Darlene raised three children, Linda, Barb and Michael. Darlene was a caretaker, growing up she assisted her mother, and was a wonderful wife to Dennis and mother to her children. She was known for being a quiet person, but always was very kind to everyone. Darlene enjoyed collecting angels and had a large collection. She loved listening to music, especially contemporary rock like Pink and Bon Jovi.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; two daughters, Linda Street of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and Barb (Gary) Shelley of Douds, Iowa; a son, Michael Roberts of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; five grandchildren, Matthew Adamson, Josh Street, Angela Street, Wendy Waugh and Joey Waugh; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Marriott of Clearmont, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Viola Semmons; and three sisters, Lillian, Wilma and Rose.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham, Iowa, with Pastor Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.
