Darlene Elizabeth Flynn, 95, of Keota, died Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids.

Darlene was born June 19, 1926, in Houghton, Iowa, to Edward and Theresa (Woltering) Conrad. She grew up in the Keota community with her five brothers: Joe, Kenneth, Denny, Donnie and Ronnie and one sister: Virginia. She graduated from Keota High School in 1944. On January 27, 1948, she married Robert Flynn at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Harper. She was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed her family, flowers, quilting, painting and travel.

Darlene and Robert had eight children, Dan Flynn, Linda (Clare) Greiner, Jim (Rita Jo) Flynn, Patricia Flynn, Nancy Tutor, Cindy (Mike) Lebsack, Janie (Ed) Odegard and Doug (Rosie) Flynn. She had 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory include her three brothers, Joe Conrad, Denny Conrad and Donnie Conrad; and two sisters-in-law, Georgia Conrad and Barbara Conrad.

Public visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. Private family memorial mass will be held at a later dare. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemeteries - St. Mary's Cemetery in Keota.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Keota Pool and Aquatic Foundation.
