Darlene M. Crile, 79, of rural Trenton, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, at her home.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery, with the Rev. Wayne Wilken officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
Visitation will be held after noon Tuesday at Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested for NAMI of Henry County the Voice of the Mentally Ill.
Mrs. Crile was born Aug. 3, 1926, in rural Washington County, the daughter of David R. and Ada F. Christner Schantz. She married Carlys Crile Aug. 5, 1945, at her parents' home in rural Washington County.
Mrs. Crile graduated from Washington High School. She helped her husband on the family farm for 60 years in the Trenton area and was devoted to her special-needs sons. She enjoyed gardening, songbirds, writing poems and letters and antique collecting.
She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church, Henry County Farm Bureau and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Old Threshers.
She is survived by her husband Carlys of Trenton; one daughter, Janice Baumann and husband Larry of Waterloo; five sons, Dennis Crile and Marlin Crile both of Glenwood, Bennett Crile and wife Judy of Mount Pleasant, Curtis Crile of Glenwood and Bradley Crile and wife Jill of Wayland; seven grandchildren; one brother, Donald Schantz of Washington; and four sisters, Pauline Duck of Olathe Kan., Lavina Barton of Lockridge, Ellen Crossett and Betty Beenblossom both of Washington, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant siblings; and one sister, Verda Henkel.
