Darrell Lee 'Turk' Borchardt

      WAYLAND-Darrell Lee "Turk" Borchardt, 61, of Wayland, formerly of Washington, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at home.

      Funeral services have been set for 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland, with the Rev. Robert Hartzler officiating. Burial will be in North Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, at the church, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, Great River Hospice, or A-Plastic Anemia MD Foundation. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is assisting with the arrangements.

      Mr. Borchardt was born on May 19, 1942, in Welcome, Minn., to Theodore and Malinda (Fritz) Borchardt. On June 5, 1959, he married Jayne Blanchar in Welcome, Minn.
