David Duane Baxter

David Duane Baxter, 44, of Mt. Pleasant, died suddenly at his home Monday, Feb. 7, 2005.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 in the chapel of the Forest Home Cemetery with Pastor Rod Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.

      Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Survivors include four sisters and their husbands, Anna and Carl Loyd and Mona and David Gates, both of New London, June and Vic Moeller of Salem and Margaret and Ken Gillispie of Mt. Pleasant; four brothers and their wives, Jim and Hazel Baxter of Medicine Lodge, Kan., George and Kay Baxter of Miami, Okla., Carl and Kay Baxter of Keosauqua and Bill Baxter of Mt. Pleasant; and a special friend Mort Whitney.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
