David E. Metz

      IOWA CITY-David E. Metz, 53, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at home, following a lengthy illness.

      Celebration of Life services were held this morning, at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Military rites were accorded by local military organizations. Private family burial was in Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, Domestic Violence Intervention Program, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County, Humanities Iowa, or a charity of one's choice.

      Mr. Metz was born on Oct. 17, 1950, in Iowa City, to Elmer and Evelyn (Musser) Metz. He married Rose Gilroy on April 21, 1972, in Iowa City.
