David E. Williams February 5, 1920 - March 15, 2004

David Ernest "Ernie" Williams, 84, of New London, died on Monday, March 15, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 19 at Elliott Chapel in New London, with the Rev. Sue Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London. Military rites will be performed by the Henry County Honor Guard. Visitation will be after noon on Thursday, March 18 at the chapel, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Great River Hospice and to the New London Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, David and his wife Jane Williams of Burlington; a daughter, Sherilyn Alden of New London; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Williams of Lake Charles.

      Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Paul and Keith; and a sister, Lois Gookin.
