David E. Yoder

      KALONA-David E. Yoder, 67, of Kalona, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Celebration of Life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 14, at Kalona United Mennonite Church, with the Rev. Lynn Patrick and the Rev. Delmar Bontrager officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Extended visitation will be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, with family present from 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Kalona United Methodist Church or Kalona City Park.

      Mr. Yoder was born on April 20, 1937, in Weatherford, Okla., to John E. and Edna Yoder. He married Judy Eash on June 5, 1965. She preceded him in death in 1974. He married Mary Schlabach on Jan. 31, 1976.
