David Farley
David Farley, 50, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 7:02 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2000, at the Henry County Health Center.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Benedict officiating. The body will be cremated with inurnment to be held at a later date. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel with family present from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. Memorials may be made to the Oakland Mills Conservation Area or the Henry County Heart Fund.
Mr. Farley was born December 6, 1949, in Williamson, W.Va., the son of Robert Lee and Martha Evans Farley. He married Betty Swailes on June 9, 1968, in Lockridge.
He worked at Bluebird Midwest for 34 years, interrupted by a 1968-1969 tour of duty with the United States Army in Vietnam.
He coached Little League baseball when his sons were young and was also a den leader for the Cub Scouts.
Survivors include his wife; sons Jason and Joshua of New London and Jeremy of Mt. Pleasant; two granddaughters; four brothers, Jim, Bob, and Ed of Mt. Pleasant and Bill Farley of Olds; one sister, Lea Roth of Gassville, Ark.; and several uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a sister Barbara Jean Farley and a twin sister Diane Farley.
