David Kenneth Shelledy

David Kenneth Shelledy, 84, of New London, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at his home.

      The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at the Elliott Chapel in New London with Pastor Sue Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery in New London. Military rites will be by Henry County Honor Guard. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the chapel with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials have been established to Dover Historical Society and Great River Hospice.

Survivors include three daughters, Joan Swender of Mt. Vernon, and Dianne and her husband Jim Dickey and Janet and her husband Greg Dillavou, all of Lincoln, Neb.; a son, Jim Shelledy of Nevada, Iowa; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Floyd and his wife Mary Shelledy of New London; and a sister, Eleanor Bank of Mt. Pleasant.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
