David A. Streff, 70, of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2021, at Parkview Manor in Wellman, Iowa, following a short illness. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel, Iowa. Calling hours will begin at noon Sunday, Oct. 3, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Sunday. A general memorial has been established. David was born July 28, 1951, in Canby, Minn., the son of Vernon and Eloise (Olsen) Streff. He attended school in Minnesota. Following his high school graduation, David enrolled in a community college where he took courses in auto mechanics. He was united in marriage to Rose Smith on May 3, 1977, in Washington, Iowa.

David lived in Washington, Iowa, since 1971. He worked at Crane Valves for 17 ½ years and served in the Army National Guard for 21 ½ years until health forced his retirement. He was a member of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed bird watching, especially Cardinals and Blue Jays. David also enjoyed playing guitar, woodworking and watching western movies and sports on TV.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Streff of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Christina Wenger and husband Danan of Washington, Iowa; brother, Paul Streff and wife Beryl of Stillwater, Minn.; sister, Barb Anderson and husband Earl of Coon Rapids, Minn.; brother, Steven Streff and wife Karen of Otter Tail, Minn.; sister, Becky Ucker of Dawson, Minn.; as well as many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric Richard Streff; and four brothers and sisters.
