Dean R. Cole

      IOWA CITY-      Dean R. Cole, 78, of rural Riverside, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, of complications from a stroke.

      Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at St. Joseph's Church in Hills, with the Rev. Louis Leonhardt officiating. Burial will be at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at Hills Community Center. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the church, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.

      Mr. Cole was born April 27, 1928, in rural Johnson County, to Raymond R. and Harriet (Huffman) Cole. He married Alice Sedlacek on April 20, 1950, in Iowa City.
