Dean R. Manchester

      Dean R. Manchester, 76, of rural Douds, died at 4:22 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield as the result of a stroke.

      A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery in rural Libertyville.

      Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 3-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

      Memorials to the family for a memorial to be determined at a later time may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 12723 Route V-64, Douds 52551.

      Mr. Manchester was born July 10, 1932, in Loup City, Neb., the son of Orrin and Emma Blauhorn Manchester. He married Geraldine Billingsley Feb. 9, 1952, in Ottumwa.
