Debra Lynn Hadley of Dighton, Kansas passed away February 16, 2024 at Lane County Hospital Dighton, Kansas after a sudden illness.
Debra (Debbie) Hadley was born November 1, 1958 in Fairfield, Iowa, the daughter of John A. and M. Eloise (Barnett) Hadley of Richland, Iowa. She attended Richland grade school and graduated from Pekin High School. She furthered her education at Barclay College (Friends Bible College) in Haviland, Kansas and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a double major and later did post graduate studies. Debra, “Ms. Hadley” began and ended her teaching career of thirty-seven years in the Dighton Community School District and was inducted twice into Who Who’s of American Teachers. Ms. Hadley was passionate about teaching and strived to develop and encouraged her students to love learning. She had many hobbies; painting, reading and writing, cake decorating, graphology, chess, and analyzing TV shows with family and friends, and other hobbies encouraged by her students. Aunt Debbie thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews when she visited family in Iowa. Former students, her nieces and nephews were well aware Ms. Hadley/Aunt Debbie was the queen of confetti and the game, Connect Four.
Debra is survived by brothers: Mike (Pam) Hadley of Richland, Iowa, Jim (Silvia) Hadley of Richland, Iowa, Daniel (Brenda) Hadley of Milford, Iowa and Joe (Kerry) Hadley of Richland, Iowa. Sisters: Susan (Howard) Hunt Peoria, Arizona, Sandi (Dennis) Wolfe of Pella, Iowa, Nancy (Wyverne) Pence of Pleasant Plain, Iowa, sister-in-law Charlotte Hadley of Salem, Oregon and multiple nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Debra was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, one brother JD Hadley and two great-nephews.
