Delbert LeRoy Soper

      Delbert LeRoy Soper, 72, of Washington, died Tuesday Feb. 7, 2006, at Washington County Hospital, following a sudden illness.

      Celebration of Life services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, at United Methodist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 in the afternoon and from 7 to 8:30 Thursday. evening. A general memorial has been established.

      Mr. Soper was born Dec. 13, 1933, in Des Moines to Olin and Myra (Schultz) Soper. He married Mary Rehmel on Dec. 29, 1957, in Independence.
