Delores H. Saforek

      KALNOA - Delores H. Saforek, 91, of Kalona, died Wednesday, Jan 18, 2006 at Pleasantview Home in Kalona, following a lingering illness.

      Celebration of Life services will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond, with the Rev. Rich Adam officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 20 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials have been established for Holy Trinity Church, Iowa City Hospice, or Pleasantview Home.

      Mrs. Saforek was born Dec. 2, 1914, to Irvin and Goldie (Grady) Kelley in Richmond. She married Melvin Saforek on Nov. 12, 1938, in Wellman. He preceded her in death in 1970.

      Mrs. Saforek graduated from North English High School. She was a ward clerk at San Antonio Memorial Hospital in Ontario, Calif. She and her husband lived in Upland, Calif., from 1954 to 1973. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond.
