Dennis Earl Stout, 83, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the Shriners Children’s Hospital or the Ainsworth Volunteer Firefighters Association Inc. Dennis was born August 16, 1939, in Washington County Iowa, the son of Miles and Beatrice (Kephart) Stout. He attended school in Washington and graduated from Washington High School. Dennis was married to Barbara Pearson on November 27, 1959. She preceded him in death in 1974. Dennis later married Linda Tappan Huston on August 28, 1986.
Dennis farmed all of his life in the Ainsworth community. He enjoyed gardening and hunting. Dennis enjoyed being busy and spent countless hours working in the timber, operating the bulldozer, and logging. He served honorably in the Army National Guard, was a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge #26, a fifty year member of the KAABA Shrine and was a member of the York Rite Bodies. Dennis served on the Ainsworth City Council for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Stout of Ainsworth, Iowa; son, Bradley Stout and Jeff McHenry of Kansas City, Missouri; son, Brian Stout and wife Patty of Lone Tree, Iowa; daughter, Tammy Blodgett and husband Rich of Ainsworth, Iowa; stepson, Ned Huston of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; and stepdaughter, Christie Bowers of Burlington, Iowa. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Robertson and husband Karl of Iowa City, Iowa; Janice Pescetto of Kansas City, Kansas; and sister-in-law, Pat Stout of Washington, Iowa.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; brother, Roger Stout; nephew, Barry Stout; and brother-in-law, CF Pescetto.
