Dennis Craig Wonderlich, 71, recently passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ollie, Iowa. He was born Sept. 8, 1949, in Fairbury, Neb., to Milford Raymond and Betty Lou (Shy) Wonderlich. He moved with his parents as a toddler to the farm near Ollie, Iowa, where he grew up.
He enjoyed farm life growing up hunting and fishing. He was active in 4-H and played musical instruments throughout his life. He graduated from Pekin Community High School in Packwood with the Class of 1967. He went on to obtain a B.A. degree from the University of Iowa and a B.S. degree from Truman State in Missouri, and a graduate degree from the University of Missouri in Columbia. After his graduate studies, he worked for the USDA to become a federal soil scientist in North Dakota, Florida and later in Minnesota. He later moved to Wisconsin for several years. He moved back to Ollie in 2007, where he would live in retirement the rest of his life.
He is survived by his siblings, Janis Sciarrotta of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Randy (Deb) Wonderlich of Wayland, Iowa, and Karen (Mark) Pomeroy of Lincoln, Neb; his much loved nephews, niece and great-nephews and nieces; also, his special friend, Nan Hoban of Brookfield, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; his special brother-in-law, Salvatore Sciarrotta; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no services. Interment will be in the Blue Point Cemetery southwest of Richland. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is assisting the family.
