Derald Fredrick Edwards

      Derald Fredrick Edwards, 82, of Wayland died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at home following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Cottonwood Church, with the Rev. Nancy Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery in Wayland. Military services will be conducted at the cemetery. Visitation begins at noon Friday, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Washington County, Cottonwood Church or Wayland First Responders.

      Mr. Edwards was born near Coppock, on July 13, 1922, the son of Fred and Jessie (Carpenter) Edwards. He married Yvonne "Bonnie" Ericks on March 10, 1946, in Hoilisington, Kan.
