DeShia Matthew

CLINTON ? DeShia Ann Matthew, 22, of Washington, died Sunday, June 19, 2016, as the result of a fire at her home in Washington.

A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, July 16, at the First Baptist Church in Washington. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 24, at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial was in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery in Clinton.

DeShia was born Oct. 1, 1993, in Davenport.

She attended Camanche Schools and graduated from Washington High School in 2012, and was taking classes at Kirkwood Community College. She loved stuffed animals, playing on the computer, crocheting, coloring, reading, and cats and dogs. She liked going on walks, riding her bike, and swimming.

Surviving are her parents, Paul and Deb Matthew of Camanche; two brothers, Quan Matthew, and Michael Jay Matthew; one sister, Allee Matthew; her step-grandmother, Diane Sievers and Tom Bubenyak of Thomson, Illinois; three aunts; and four special cousins.

She was preceded in death by grandparents.
