Dillon D. Schantz

      Dillon D. Schantz, 88, of Wapello, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in the Great River Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oregon Township Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

      Mr. Schantz was born Oct. 26, 1918, in Washington County, the son of Henry R. and Bertha Alice (Miller) Schantz. He married Margaret (Peg) Edmondson on March 31, 1940, at his parents' home in Washington.
