Dion Dittrich, age 58, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home, with Reverend Rick Zickefoose officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to the service, where the family will be present to receive friends. A general memorial has been established. Dion was born on January 11, 1967, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Larry and Diana (Marsh) Dittrich. He graduated from Washington High School in 1985 and spent three years studying law at the University of Iowa. He later received his degree in Agriculture.

While Dion spent the majority of his life in Washington County, he also lived in Houston, Texas for several years. He worked at Kalona Plastics and had a variety of interests, including riding his e-bike, collecting and restoring watches, and collecting antiques. He also enjoyed sharing random facts.

Dion is survived by his two children: son, Nicolaus Dittrich of Washington, Iowa, and daughter, Pearl Dittrich of Wellman, Iowa; mother, Diana Hamilton of Washington, Iowa; and brother, Nick Dittrich of Washington, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dittrich; stepfather, Jack Hamilton; and grandparents, Jim and Donna Marsh, and Jack and Georgia Dempsey.
