A celebration of life for Dolores M. Lewis, 86, of Wayland, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Independent Bible Church in Wayland. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the church. A general memorial fund has been established. Dolores Lewis died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at her home in Wayland. Beatty Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dolores Mae Lewis was born Sept. 10, 1932, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Frances (Coufal) Meyer. She worked in many odd jobs through the years. On Nov. 25, 1970, she was united in marriage to Clarence Lewis in the Quad Cities. Dolores was a member of the Independent Bible Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, flowers, sewing and baking.

Survivors include her children, Kathy Martin of Texarkana, Ark., Sharon (Max) DeLay of Mount Pleasant, Ola (Jim) Williams of Washington, Iowa, and Michael (Andrea) Lewis of Wayland; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one brother, Don (Delores) Meyer of Amana.

Preceding Dolores in death were her parents; her husband, Clarence; three children, David Walters, Janice Miller and Steven Walters; two sisters, Marie Rutsseger and Ruth Ehreman; and one brother, Richard Meyer.
