Dona Marie (Kilmer) Frank passed away on May 19, 2025, at Brooklyn Community Estates.

A private family service will be held.

Dona Frank was born to Elsie Bolen Carter and Carl Carter on October 2, 1933, in Brooklyn, Iowa. She attended Brooklyn Public Schools for 12 years and was a willing participant for four years in 6-on-6 basketball. Upon graduation she worked in Cedar Rapids for an oral surgeon and took classes to become an oral technician.

In 1954 she married Harry Kilmer Sr at Kirksville, Missouri. She became the mother of five children! Janyll Lynn, Carl Amos, Launee Kay, Harry Johnathan Jr., and Dana Cray. The family farmed southeast of Brooklyn. The couple were divorced in 1979.

In 1982, Dona married Glenn Frank, they lived in Des Moines until 1991 when they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked in dental offices and then manager of a 65-unit senior apartment complex before moving back to Brooklyn in 2007.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her only sister Thelma Ryan, her grandparents, her husband Glenn Frank, her son Carl Kilmer and grandson Austin Kilmer.

She is survived by; Janyll (Charlie) Baird of Newton, Launee Massengale of Brooklyn, Harry Jr. (Diane) Kilmer of Brooklyn, and Dana (Tricia) Kilmer of Brooklyn; 7 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
