Donald A. Johanson

      Donald A. Johanson, 71, of Wayland, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church, with the Rev. Bob Wolf officiating and the Rev. Don Green and the Rev. Joe Forest assisting. Burial will be in Fern Cliff Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Friday, at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 in the evening. A general memorial has been established.

      Pastor Johanson was born July 29, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., to Fritz Leonard and Esther Marie (Lindgren) Johanson. He married Ella Brown on June 17, 1961, in Leoti, Kan.
