Donald Bishop Jr.

Donald R. Bishop Jr., 74, of Peoria, Illinois, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017, in Peoria.

Cremation has been accorded, and a private graveside service was held at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home in Washington was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bishop was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Washington, the son of Donald R. Bishop Sr. and Elizabeth E. (Leet) Bishop of Rubio. He was married to Carole K. Jungbluth.

He had a long career as a pastoral minister, counselor, Hospice caregiver and social worker. He was known as a gentle, thoughtful and kind man. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, whom he loved dearly. In his spare time he enjoyed his mules, hunting, fishing and camping.

Surviving are two sons, Donald R. Bishop III of Sycamore, Illinois, and Ric L. Bishop of Shelbina, Missouri; one brother, Larry E. Bishop; and one sister-in-law, Kay R. Berkhoff Bishop.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Carole.
