Donald Brockway

Donald Earl Brockway, 79, of Wayland, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City.

      The graveside service with military rites will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 in Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Keith Haerer of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland. A memorial has been established.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Charles Brockway of Des Moines; a daughter, Kriss and her husband Mike Smith of Belle Plaine; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson; three brothers, Carl Brockway of Missouri, and Marshall Brockway and Marvin Brockway, both of Burlington; and three sisters, Ruth Weisel and Evelyn Brockway, both of Tucson, Ariz., and Arlene Kuntz of Burlington.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lois, an infant brother and two grandchildren.
