Donald “Butch” K. Standley, 79, of rural Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at his home.

Butch was born on November 5, 1942, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Clarence Clifford & Mary Louise (Nye) Standley. He served his country in the United States Army. Butch was united in marriage to Jocinda E. Ridinger on December 12, 1987, in Mt. Pleasant. After 27 years of marriage they divorced. Early in his life he worked at Emerson Electric of Mt. Pleasant and various other jobs. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, owls, derby and being a semi driver. Butch was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Miami Dolphins and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

He is survived by his children, Terance Standley, Joni Mendoza and his ex-wife, Jocinda all of Mt. Pleasant, four grandchildren, Trae-sean, Jack, Tryee and Allie.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mike Hughes and his brother, Randy C. Standley.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, July 16, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in his memory. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
