Donald C. Leinen

        KALONA ? Donald C. Leinen, 87, of Kalona, formerly of Iowa City and Harper, died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City after a lingering illness.

    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with the Rev. Rich Adam officiating.  Following the service, the body will be cremated.  Burial will be at a later date at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Harper.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established for Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

    Mr. Leinen was born May 8, 1922, in South English, the son of John W. and Anna (Britten) Leinen.  He married Darlene Steckel on Nov. 29, 1958, in Cedar Rapids.
