Donald DeWayne Cerny

      LONE TREE - Donald DeWayne Cerny, 88, of Iowa City, formerly of Lone Tree, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, in his residence in Iowa City following an extended illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, in the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree with Loren Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery with military rites provided by the Lone Tree American Legion Post No. 457. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

      Mr. Cerny was born July 14, 1919, in Lone Tree, the son of Charles and Tillie (Knotek) Cerny. He married Ruby Prymek on Sept. 4, 1947, in Iowa City.
