Donald Earl Martin Sr., passed away at the age of 98, on Thursday, January 21, 2021, in Grand Meadow, Minnesota after a brief Illness.

Don was born August 20, 1922, to Earl and Mildred Martin. He was raised in Jefferson County and graduated from Fairfield

High School. He married Janet Praefke on November 26, 1942, in Milwaukee. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1943. He and Janet made their home in Fairfield, Iowa, and had three children: Donald Jr. Sandra and Mary.

Don retired from Rockwell International and then worked for Tribune Printing. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and created many woodworking projects over the years as a hobby. After his wife passed away in 2008, he moved to Minnesota and had been residing with his daughter Mary in Dexter, Minnesota, at the time of his death.

Don is survived by his son, Donald (JoAnn) Martin Jr. of Fairfield and Mary Waugh of Dexter, Minnesota. He will be missed by his grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Myers of Packwood, IA, Mike Waugh of Pahrump, NV, Jeff (Jennifer) Martin of Fairfield, IA, Todd (Lisa) Martin of Libertyville, IA, and Sean (Kerri) Waugh of Pahrump, NV. Don also leaves behind 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his brother, Harold; daughter, Sandra DeSmit; wife, Janet; and grandson, Adam Waugh.

No services are scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
