Donald Edward Brooks

      Donald Edward Brooks, 83, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mount Pleasant.

      A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Gary W. Sneller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

      Visitation began at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Manor Care Center.

      Mr. Brooks was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Wapello County, the son of William Edward and Mary Townsley Brooks. He married Adelene Prosser April 25, 1942. She died Dec. 26, 1987. He married Vera Harrelson Nov. 26, 1988.
