Donald Gene Beane died Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Wooster, Ohio at age 94.

He was born August 25, 1929 in Aurora, Illinois, and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1951 with a major in Business Administration. At Iowa Wesleyan, he lettered in basketball and track and also played baritone in the marching band. He was elected president of both his junior and senior classes and graduated magna cum laude. Don met Marjorie Pixley at Iowa Wesleyan and they married in 1952.

Following service in the Air Force, Don earned a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 1962. He went on to a 33-year career as a math professor at the College of Wooster. He lived a life of service and traveled extensively in retirement. Don is survived by three children, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a worldwide network of friends.
