Donald H. Schoentag

Donald Harold Schoentag, 79, of rural Hazleton, died Friday, Nov. 14, following an auto accident near Alden.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, with a military memorial service at 7 p.m. Following the viewing on Tuesday, his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein, with the Rev. John Kerr officiating. Inurnment will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in rural Oelwein.

A memorial fund has been established for the Salvation Army.

He was born Feb. 15, 1929, in Oelwein, the son of Harold and Florence Wilson Schoentag. On Nov. 14, 1948, he married Emma Lou Hillman in Oelwein; she died in 1970. On Feb. 12, 1972, he married Margaret Proctor in Oelwein.
