Donald Howard Hewitt

      Donald Howard Hewitt, 85, of Fairfield, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua.

      A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Howard Innis officiating. Interment with military rites will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

      Open visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will be present at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

      Memorials may be made to the Fairfield Public Library in lieu of flowers.

      Mr. Hewitt was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Denver, Colo., the son of William and Malissa Thorn Hewitt. He married Estella Eiune Gore Aug. 31, 1952, in Fairfield. She died Nov. 2, 2004.
