Donald K. Johnson, 89, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Crawfordsville died at 1:11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Philip Borleske officiating. Burial will be in the Swedesburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. There will be no family visitation time. Memorials can be made to the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Mr. Johnson was born Feb. 8, 1911, in Fairfield, the son of Peter J. and Dorthea H. Nelson Johnson. He married Dorothy Marjorie Quick on April 19, 1941, in Swedesburg. He farmed in the Mt. Union area for some time until he purchased a farm in Crawfordsville. He farmed in Crawfordsville for many years until his retirement in 1981. Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Mt. Pleasant. He was a longtime member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Crawfordsville Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Dwayne D. Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Willard B. Johnson of Fairfield and C.L. Johnson of Houghton; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Morris Eugene Johnson; four sisters, Francis P. Johnson, Helen A. Livix, Ruth M. Schenk, and Marjorie V. Johnson; and two brothers, Claire L. and George W. Johnson.
